Understanding Woke Tactics pt.1: Sneaking in bad ideas.
How the woke use language games to hide the parts of their worldview and ideology they know people will reject.
If we want to turn the tide against the woke ideology that is marching through our society we need to understand the various tactics woke activists use as they seek to spread their ideology and worldview. Because postmodernism lies at the heart of wokeness, the woke tend to be very good at making use of the linguistic trick and tactics that can be found in postmodern theory and philosophy. This means woke activists tend to be very good at using language games and verbal sleight of hand to win debates, avoid accountability, hijack conversations, dodge objections, grab power, and hide the pieces of their ideology and worldview that they know people will reject. Because of this it can be very difficult to know how to engage with woke people when they make their advances.
For that reason, I will be doing a series on the tactics the woke use as they go about spreading wokeness. This series will help you spot various woke tactics when their being used, and it will give you the tools to defeat those tactics when they are used against you.
Let’s begin.
A very common tactic woke activists use is describing what they are up to in a way that hides the pieces of their ideology and worldview which they know everyone else will reject. The activists that spread woke ideas play "hide the ball" with their flawed methods, assumptions, and ideas in order to get people to accept woke conclusions and ideas. Let me illustrate what I mean by "describing what they are up to" so you can see how they do this.
Suppose a man is selling goods that he stole and you ask him "what are you up to?" Suppose he responds by saying "I'm just trying to make a living by selling these items." Has that man given you an honest explanation of what he is doing?
No. He has not.
He has described the act of selling stolen goods by telling you the part that is acceptable (making a living by selling things) and leaving out the part you would object to (that he is selling stolen goods). He uses a description that leaves out a very important piece of information: that he stole the things that is is trying to sell you. The thing that he is doing which is wrong, objectionable, dishonest, and illegal has been cut out of his explanation.
Let's use another example so we ca really get a hold of what's at work here.
One way to remove dirt from a car is by washing it gently with soap and water, being careful not to damage the vehicle. Another way to remove dirt from the car is by scraping the dirt off with a sharp blade. The difference between those two methods is that the gentle wash removes the dirt and leaves a shine, and scraping the car with a blade will scratch and damage the paint. If I offer to clean your car and I say "I'll remove that dirt from your car for you," but I don't tell you I'm going to scrape it off, you're going to be upset when I return your car and the paint is scratched and damaged. If I tell you my plan in terms of my goal (to remove the dirt from you car) but leave out out the method I am going to use to remove that dirt (scraping your car with a blade) you don't have the option I am not giving you all the information you need to make a proper decision about whether or not you want me to clean your car.
This is what the "woke" very often do. They will describe their goals, ideas, claims, and ideology in ways which leaves out the parts they know people will reject. Let's look at an example of how that works when it comes to wokeness.
A woke person might say something like "we are trying to study racism so we can end it." That might sound pretty good. The problem is that the woke person will leave out the fact that they are using methods from postmodernism and Critical Theory when they do their studying.
Similarly they might say "we want to study gender and so we can figure out if our society holds ideas about gender which might not be correct." They then leave out the fact that they are not going to study this using the science if biology, but rather the postmodern methods found in academic Queer Theory (sometimes called "gender ideology").
In this way, the "woke" describe what they are up to in terms of goals which appears reasonable, while hiding the fact they are using the methods and assumptions of Critical Theory and postmodernism. They bury the deeply flawed assumptions, concepts, ideas, worldview, and methods that they are going to use by describing what they are up to in terms of reasonable sounding goals. This way they avoid having to describe the flawed methods, assumptions, and ideas that they put to work when they pursue those reasonable sounding goals.
What this means is that when regular people ask the woke what they are doing, the woke tell them a story about wanting equality, or ending racism, or analyzing gender, and then they leave out any description of the intellectual machinery that they are using in the process of pursuing those goals. The result of this tactics is that regular people don't fully understand what's really going on when the woke are engaged in advocacy, academic work, or activism because they don't have the full picture the intellectual methods and assumptions that the woke are using.
The woke have avoided telling people the whole truth about what they are doing by describing it in a way which hides the pieces of their ideology, worldview, and methods that people would reject if they could grasp the full picture of what the woke are up to. This is how the woke are able to sneak their bad ideas past people when they go about taking over institutions and implementing their ideas.
The way to deal with this tactic is to carefully and clearly explain exactly what it is that the woke are up to when they engage in activism, analysis and political engagement. The bits of wokeness that the woke want to hide need to be exposed in a way that the average person understands so that average people can see exactly what it is the woke are up to. We have to carefully and clearly lay out for people all the flawed assumptions, ideas, concepts, and methods that make up the woke ideology and worldview so that people can see the whole picture and reject it.
The key thing for defeating this tactic is absolute clarity. Once people have a clear picture of what the woke ideology and worldview says, how it operates, and what it's methods are, they will then be in a position to straightforwardly reject it.

I only say this because I want you to be effective, and maybe this is the PR person in me - but please proofread or hire an editor! You make so many good points, but you don't want your message to be lost because people got distracted by the typos. Again, I love that you are doing this, but trust me, any dissenter will see that first typo, cling to it, and tear you through the mud with it. Grammarly is a free extension for basic spelling and grammar, but I'm also sure someone would gladly edit your work.
Thank you! :-)
A good example of this is news outlets using euphemisms like “gender-affirming care” or “therapies for transgender minors” instead of referring directly to genital surgery and mastectomies.
The former phrases sound nice, until you learn what they really mean.
