Another excellent, accurate take on the ideology that's taken over academia and has come to have such a corrosive effect on society more broadly. Having finished a PhD in the humanities in Canada in 2017, I can attest to the truth of everything you describe.
This helped me process a letter I need to write regarding pronoun proclamation and why it makes me uncomfortable that my child is expected to now do this in group settings. Thank you.
I appreciate your ability to convey these ideas so clearly. It really helps me understand what seem to be many disconnected "movements" as all part of a piece. They all have the same two pillar foundation. I get it now. Thank you.
"People of color" & all the other terms like it are the updated terms of the old racist term "Colored". They're racist terms masqueraded as progressive/non-racist terms.
Excellent article… Looking forward to being released from Twitter prison so that it’s easier to keep up with your great work exposing the ‘woke’ virus moving swiftly through our culture.
Seems to me, mixing post-modernism with CRT should be like mixing water and oil.
Shouldn't the PMs be interrogating and deconstructing CRT? They're almost the perfect foil for one another (I know why of course, because shameless grifting, but it's interesting to ponder).
I have thought the same thing at times and wondered how the whole "postmodernism is the rejection of all grand narratives" sales pitch only seems to work in one direction and wondered why there has never been (and never will be) a deconstruction of the Diversity industry or of the claims of BLM.
I think it's basically because the postmodernists (esp of the French philosopher variety and their acolytes) are/were bad-faith actors who take advantage of liberalism and the liberal belief that all claims should be fairly considered and weighed etc, when they themselves are illiberal and have no such considerations.
Or to just phrase it more simply and clearly: postmodernism is and always was a specifically Leftist/Marxist movement designed to attack and cripple all the traditions and institutions of Western Civ, while hiding behind word clouds of jargon and the masquerade of being disinterested scholarship.
The goal is and always has been total negation of the existing world and demonization and dismantling of all norms, traditions, standards, etc etc: and there's no denying they've been incredibly successful.
One thing that critical theory will never attack is patriarchy and misogyny! Although espoused by some women (adult human females), critical theory and post-modernism will never be used to dismantle men's power over women. We woman must fight for our sex-based rights, just as women of the suffrage movement had to.
To understand what is really needed to unseat Wokeness (and how hopeless it is given the weaknesses of the right), please refer to NS Lyons' exhaustive treatment on his Substack the Upheaval (Jan 18, 2022) under the title "No, the Revolution Isn't Over."
The public benefits of espousing this crap has to start being outweighed by the public cost of doing so. Relentless shaming, ridiculing, ostracizing and heaping of contempt is a good start. Debating is pointless as you stated and I also have no interest in changing their minds. The die hard woke will eventually slither away and the mindless NPC virtue signalers of luxury beliefs will flip sides once they see the new social paradigm evolve.

How is saying your pronouns to a group any different than saying your name? It's just how you prefer being called, brother.

People of color didn't use the term "colored", racists and slaveowners did.

Foucault's Regressive Tolerance is the perfect example of demoralised cynical leftbotism "rules for thee but not for me"
Yes. The ultimate goal is the destruction of everything Western, and therefore all modern systems because all modern systems were built by Westerners. https://open.substack.com/pub/justingaffneysamuels/p/womens-colleges-arts-programs-social?r=6512g&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
There is no way that part of the ultimate goal of CT and post-modernism is the destruction of male power and patriarchy.
Do you seriously think that CR and post-modernism will EVER try to undermine the Western patriarchy? I do not!
